I’ve been thinking about the timeline leading up to when they finally charged Gonzalez in March 2022. It’s absolutely devastating for the families of Stephanie and Akir to have endured nearly five years without any closure. I can’t even imagine the pain of losing loved ones in such a brutal way and then having the case unresolved for so long. It makes me wonder about the challenges investigators faced and what finally led to the breakthrough. Was it new evidence, a tip, or advances in technology? I genuinely hope that the trial will finally bring some peace and answers to all those affected. Any thoughts or insights on why it might have taken so long to charge someone?
