I've been following the Nicholas Boger case, and something that stands out to me is the clerical error that allowed one of the suspects, Coello-Perez, to be released briefly from custody. It's troubling to think that such a mistake could happen in a case with such serious charges. It must have been incredibly distressing for Nicholas's family to hear about his release, even if it was temporary. Knowing someone involved in your loved one's death was back on the streets, even for a short period, must have felt like a punch to the gut. Thankfully, he was apprehended again, but it makes me wonder how often these errors occur and the trauma they might cause victims' families. My heart goes out to the Boger family; I hope they find some peace and justice in these trying times.
