It's so tragic to think about all the questions that Veronica's family must be grappling with right now. One thing I keep coming back to is how incredibly surreal it must have been for the deputies when they first arrived on the scene and found both Veronica and the suspect there. Was it immediately clear to them what had happened, or did it take time to piece together? I can only imagine how that tense environment would unfold, especially given that Asunsion Martinez was apparently there when they showed up. My heart truly goes out to Veronica’s loved ones as they try to find clarity and justice amidst such confusing and painful circumstances. I hope the investigation brings some answers sooner rather than later, and that law enforcement is doing everything they can to handle this case with the care and attention it deserves.
