Hey everyone, I'm reflecting a lot on the ripple effect that Tunji Smith Jr.'s tragic death has had, particularly on the community in Charlotte. It’s devastating to think about how this violence isn’t just confined to those directly involved but radiates outward, affecting families, friends, and neighbors. I can’t imagine the pain his family must be enduring, losing someone so young and with so much potential. It's another reminder of how the cycle of drug-related violence leaves deep wounds in communities. I wonder, too, about the preventative measures that could be put in place to stop these tragedies before they happen. Is there enough support for young people in Charlotte to steer them away from risky situations? It feels like there needs to be more community engagement to address this ongoing issue.
