I wanted to share a thought about the tragedy involving Blaise Joshua Okale-Weeks and Daceion Sanders. While we spend a lot of time trying to piece together what happened, I think it’s important to remember the people at the heart of this story. Blaise’s family and his community have been deeply affected by this loss, and I can’t imagine the pain they are going through. From what I've heard, Blaise had only just moved to Greenville. Starting fresh in a new place always brings hopes and dreams, and this senseless act has shattered those dreams for him and his loved ones. I've seen some discussions speculating on the suspects' background and motives, but I hope we can also keep focused on advocating for justice in a way that respects and honors the memory of Blaise and Daceion. Families should be able to cherish the memories of their loved ones without the added burden of public scrutiny. Let’s stand in solidarity with them, offering support and love as they navigate through this difficult time.
