I've been following the tragic case of Moncel D'Angelo Garrett-Richardson, and something that stands out to me is the impact this had on the community. I can't imagine the pain his family and friends must be feeling. It's clear from the vigils and outpouring of support that Moncel was loved by many. His senseless death is a stark reminder of the gun violence plaguing our neighborhoods. It's devastatingly sad how another young life with potential has been cut short. I hope that this case not only brings justice to Moncel’s family but also prompts meaningful change in addressing violence in Durham. My thoughts go out to his loved ones, who are undoubtedly still grieving this immense loss.
