I’ve been following the situation in Detroit and came across Maurice Johnson’s case from 2015. I was struck by how many families like his are still waiting for answers. With so many unsolved homicides, it’s like these victims and their families are stuck in a painful limbo, not knowing why or how it happened. From what I've read, it seems that the lack of resources and overwhelming number of cases have really stretched the Cold Case Unit thin. I wonder if there are any community-led groups that could help shine a light on these cold cases or offer support to the families still hoping for justice. Every little bit of awareness helps, and maybe someone will come forward with information that could change everything for these families. Thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by unsolved cases like Maurice’s.
