I was reading about Amari's case, and one thing that struck me was the alert issued to students at Johnson C. Smith University. I can't imagine the fear and uncertainty those students must have felt during that time. It’s so unfortunate that violence like this can spill over and affect so many people in a community, bringing a sense of danger to places we often feel safe. I hope the university and surrounding community have found ways to heal and support each other in the aftermath. My heart goes out to Amari’s family and the entire community touched by this tragedy. It's important we keep advocating for safer environments everywhere.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Amari Reshad McCaskill and just can't seem to shake off how close to home this hits for many in Charlotte. Has anyone else been thinking about the impact this might have had on Johnson C. Smith University students? I read that the campus had to issue an emergency alert due to the proximity of the incident, and I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been for everyone trying to stay safe and informed.
It seems like these alerts are becoming all too common, and it's heartbreaking for both students and their families. I hope the university has been providing ample support and resources for those affected by this senseless act. Just thinking about all the lives this tragedy has touched is overwhelming.
If anyone here attends JCSU or knows someone who does, I'd be interested to hear how the community is coping and if there's anything they’re finding helpful. Sending lots of love and strength to Amari’s family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time.
Stay safe, everyone.
