I keep thinking about the ShotSpotter alert that led the police to Jason Stokes. It’s just so surreal how technology played a crucial role in responding so quickly that night. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that these alerts have become a vital tool for law enforcement, potentially saving time in life-threatening situations. It’s haunting to realize Jason was already gone by the time they arrived, despite the advantages of such technology. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones, who must be grappling with countless 'what ifs' every day. I hope they find some comfort in knowing that justice was served, even though it can’t bring him back. It’s a reminder that advancements in technology can be a double-edged sword—helpful in discovery, yet unable to change the tragic outcomes we wish could be different.
