Hey everyone. I've been following Austin Oldfield's case and something has been on my mind ever since reading about it. Has anyone considered the possibility that Austin might have experienced a mental health crisis during his Vision Quest? The hunters who encountered him described him as confused and disoriented, which makes me wonder if his state of mind played a significant role in his disappearance. It’s not uncommon for someone on a spiritual journey to experience heightened emotions or states of consciousness. If Austin was indeed in an altered state, it's possible he might have become overwhelmed and wandered further into the forest, making it more challenging for him to find his way back to his campsite. Does anyone know if any mental health professionals were involved in the case or if any resources might be helpful in similar scenarios? Just trying to think outside the box. Thoughts?

Has anyone else looked into the possible significance of the "Vision Quest" aspect in Austin Oldfield's disappearance? I recently read about similar spiritual quests and how they can sometimes involve fasting or other practices that might affect someone's physical and mental state. Could this have contributed to his disoriented state when the hunters saw him? It makes me wonder if he may have become lost or unable to make rational decisions due to such practices. It’s been years, and it must be excruciating for his family not knowing. I'm curious if anyone has theories or similar case references where a spiritual journey played a role in a person's disappearance or behavior.
