Benjamin S. Krupinski was 62 when he vanished from the Rinehimer Inn on Lily Lake Road in Conyngham Township, Pennsylvania, on November 2, 1968. A former coal miner from Glen Lyon who suffered from severe asthma and used a hand‑carved cane, he was last seen leaving the boarding house to go to a friend’s party and never returned.
Family members recall the inn housed a rough crowd and suspect foul play. In the 1970s the new owner found Krupinski’s distinctive cane in a closet; the family said he never left without it. A son remembered a freshly disturbed patch of dirt on the basement floor soon after the disappearance and said the area was promptly covered with concrete about a week later.
In 2016 investigators used ground‑penetrating radar on the sealed basement slab, excavated two anomalies and brought in a cadaver dog, but the searches produced no remains or evidence. The disappearance remains unsolved and Krupinski’s fate unknown.
