Just read that the police connected Remy's murder to another trans woman, Jadae, who was killed just days before. It's chilling to see these cases linked, and it really makes me wonder if there's more to it or if more could have been done to prevent such tragedies. The fact that both happened under such similar circumstances in the same city—it's beyond alarming. I find myself thinking about the families and how hard it must be to not only lose someone you love but also deal with the public nature of these crimes. No one should have to feel unsafe just for being themselves. It’s a stark reminder of how much work we still have to do to make the world a safer place for everyone.
