Hey everyone, I’ve been following little Zakylen’s case, and it’s just so devastating to think about what his family and friends are going through right now. My heart goes out to all of them. What really struck me was hearing about the candlelight vigil they held for him. It seemed like such a beautiful way for the Hickory community to come together and honor his memory. I read that Zakylen loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and dinosaurs. It breaks my heart even more thinking about how he was just a little guy with his whole life ahead of him. One thing that really impressed me, though, was how quickly the community rallied together to support Zakylen’s family. It’s in times like these that you realize how vital a strong community can be. It’s a testament to how loved Zakylen was—and still is—and how the people around him are determined to see justice served. Does anyone have any insight into how the legal proceedings are shaping up? From everything I've read, it seems like the police are doing a thorough job with their investigation, but I can’t stop thinking about how unbearable this wait for justice must feel for his family.
