I've been following the case of Jacqueline Hernandez Vargas, and it's just so deeply unsettling. I've been particularly interested in understanding the role of the community in situations like this. Seeing how her fellow students and teachers at Fike High School have come together is truly moving. They've been organizing vigils and support groups, which I think shows a lot about how much she was loved and the impact she had on those around her. It also makes me wonder about the kind of support systems schools have in place for students dealing with such traumatic events. Does anyone know if there are ongoing efforts in Wilson to provide long-term support for her friends and family? It's so important that those affected by this tragedy have the resources they need in the aftermath. My heart goes out to everyone involved.
