We hear these stories and think it could never happen to us, but tragedy doesn’t pick and choose. Markovia's story is a somber lesson that drives home the critical nature of keeping firearms locked up and out of reach, especially in homes where children are present. It's a topic that might feel repetitive, but reminders like this are unfortunately necessary. Maybe some good can eventually come of this tragedy if it inspires even one person to take steps to prevent similar incidents.
