Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Joseph Scarangella Jr. and I couldn’t help but think about the neighborhood where this tragedy took place. From what I’ve read and heard from locals, Havelock is typically a really peaceful place, where people know their neighbors and often look out for one another. It's hard to wrap my mind around such a violent event happening in a community that’s more known for its friendly family atmosphere. This makes me wonder if there were any signs of tension or issues anyone noticed, but perhaps didn't realize the severity of, between Joseph and his nephew Eric Ericson. Sometimes, in close-knit neighborhoods, people might feel hesitant to intervene, even if they see someone struggling. My heart goes out to not only the Scarangella family but also to the neighbors who are undoubtedly trying to make sense of this too. It must be difficult for them to reconcile the charming neighborhood they know with the scene of such a tragedy. I hope they can find a way to heal together and support one another. If anyone from Havelock is here and feels comfortable sharing, what’s the atmosphere in the community like right now? Thinking of you all.
