I’ve been thinking a lot about the intense impact Isaiah’s murder has had on the students at Surf City Middle School. Can you imagine the heartbreak and confusion his classmates are going through right now? I heard the school has counselors available, but I hope they’re also offering programs to help the kids talk about their feelings and cope with this loss. Losing a friend is hard enough, but in such a traumatic way has to be even harder for a young kid. There's such a strong need for these resources to be extended over time since healing from something like this can’t be rushed. It’s a heavy reminder of how important mental health support is, not just right after the tragedy, but in the long run too. My thoughts are with every student and teacher who knew Isaiah. If anyone has information on how they’re all doing or what kind of community initiatives have started to support the school, please share. I’d love to know how we as a community can help them through this tough time.

I can't get Isaiah Robinson and his family out of my mind. What breaks my heart even more is thinking about the trauma his classmates and teachers are enduring right now. Surf City Middle School must feel so empty without Isaiah's presence. I can only imagine how his friends are coping, suddenly losing a buddy in such a horrific manner. Schools are supposed to be a safe and encouraging space for kids, and now they have to deal with this tragedy. It's so important that the school district is offering support services to the students and staff, but I still wish I could wrap my arms around those kids and let them know the world is still good despite this darkness. How does a community begin to heal from something like this? What can we do to help the school and its students in practical terms?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of mental health in tragedies like the Robinson family shooting. While I definitely believe justice needs to be served for Isaiah and his family, I just can't help but wonder what kind of mental state Wilbert Lamont Robinson was in. It's so important that we as a community focus on mental health awareness and provide resources for those who need help before something like this happens. My heart goes out to the Surf City Middle School community and all who knew Isaiah. We've got to support each other through these tough times and push for more mental health and crisis intervention resources. Does anyone know if there’s been any discussion about new initiatives for mental health awareness in the area after this tragedy?
