Has anyone looked into the gang aspect of Welch's disappearance? It seems like he was genuinely scared when he called his mom from that pay phone. I know it's a long shot since it's been decades, but has anyone identified potential gang activity around Phoenix in 1980 that might align with his disappearance? Also, does anyone else find it odd that his mom waited so many years to report him missing? That delay is baffling. Could there have been reasons why she didn't go to the police earlier? Feels like there are some important pieces missing in this puzzle.

Hey everyone, I've been following the Welch case and came across an interesting bit about his last known location. It's baffling that Welch mentioned he was in Phoenix on a payphone call to his mom, claiming he was in danger. But what's got me puzzled is why he said he was staying in a hotel. Do any of you think there might be a clue in one of the nearby hotels from that time? Perhaps someone who worked there might remember something, even all these years later. It's a long shot, but I feel like it's one of the few concrete details we have to go on. Any thoughts or ideas on how to dig into this aspect further?
