I’ve been following the case of Hazel Leach, and one detail that stands out is the sheer number of agencies involved in the investigation and arrest of Lawrence Thomas. The seamless coordination between the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Police Department, Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, and Elizabethtown Police Department seems to have been key in piecing together the events leading up to Hazel’s death. It's such a relief to see different departments work so effectively together to ensure justice for Hazel. My thoughts are with Hazel's loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. It’s tragic to think about what she went through, and I hope they find some solace in knowing that the investigation was handled with such diligence.
