I’ve been thinking a lot about what happened to Saveyon Taylor, and something that stands out to me is the role that arguments can play in escalating violence. A gathering meant for friends should never turn into something tragic like this. It really makes me wonder if there were any warning signs earlier that day, or if it was a spur-of-the-moment eruption. I can’t imagine the anguish his family must be going through, losing someone so young and full of potential. Also, the fact that no suspects were being sought seems puzzling—were those involved known to each other, and did they decide to handle it internally? This just highlights the importance of addressing disputes before they reach such a devastating end. I'm holding Saveyon's loved ones in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
