It's up to the people who might have seen something that night on Interstate 485 or at the gas station to come forward. Any small piece of information could really make a difference. This whole situation with Dermaine Perea just keeps tugging at my heart. I’ve been thinking a lot about why he may have driven to that particular gas station on South Tryon Street. Was he familiar with that area? Did he know someone nearby or just feel like it was a safe spot to stop after what happened on I-485? It’s so unsettling to imagine how scared he must have been. If anyone in the Charlotte area has any insight or noticed anything unusual around that time, please share. I can’t imagine what his family is going through right now, not having answers.
