Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussions about the tragic passing of Auburn Odell Clement, and something that sticks with me is the location where this terrible incident happened. The J.C. Price American Legion Hall parking lot being completely unrelated to any events or activities just adds an eerie and unjust layer to this whole situation. It’s unsettling to think that Auburn was struck down in a place that should have been completely innocuous and safe.
For the residents around Old Wilkesboro Road, it must be deeply distressing to see a familiar place associated with such a traumatic event. I can't begin to imagine what Auburn's family is going through, knowing he had no direct reason to be in danger at that spot. It reminds us that violence can, unfortunately, touch any corner of our communities, regardless of the significance or purpose of the location.
Thinking of Auburn’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and hoping everyone involved gets the justice they deserve.
Stay safe and take care, everyone.
I've been thinking a lot about the location of the shooting and how it plays into this tragedy. The J.C. Price American Legion Hall was closed when Auburn was found, so it makes me wonder what brought him—and others—there that night. It's just so senseless and infuriating. Being in a place that's not in use should have meant it was a safe spot, not the scene of a crime. I keep thinking about how his loved ones must feel, knowing his last moments were in such a lonely, quiet area. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most ordinary places can hold the darkest secrets. My heart goes out to those grieving Auburn's untimely passing, and I hope the community continues to rally to support his family and honor his life. If anyone has more details about the location or what could have led to this tragedy happening there, please share. The more we understand, the better we can help bring justice.
