Just wanted to talk about the aftermath of the tragic events at the Howard Johnson Hotel involving Robert and Elizabeth Steagall. It's absolutely devastating to read about their loss at the hands of Mark Essex during that terrifying ordeal. I can only imagine the pain their families continue to experience to this day. The bravery of first responders who put their lives on the line to end the threat that Essex posed should also be acknowledged. It's unsettling to think about how such a large-scale incident unfolded and the sheer chaos that took place. Hoping that by discussing these events, we can better understand how to prevent similar tragedies from happening. Acts like this have such a ripple effect, not only on the families but on the communities as well. My heart goes out to all impacted by this senseless violence.
