Hi everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Alton Wilson and Ray Jones lately. The fact that these two men were simply out fishing, a peaceful pastime, when their lives were taken is incredibly disturbing. It really makes me ponder how such innocent activities can turn tragic in a heartbeat due to the senseless actions of others.
From what I've read, Alton and Ray were both well-respected in their community, and it's hard to fathom the impact this must have had on their families and neighbors. To lose loved ones in such a brutal and unexpected way is something I can't even begin to imagine. This case is a stark reminder of the randomness of violence and how it can touch any one of us, even in the most rural and presumably safe settings.
Does anyone else have any more information about what kind of people Alton and Ray were, or how their community in Franklinton has dealt with the aftermath? It would be nice to honor their memory by understanding more about the lives they led and the impact they had on those around them.
Take care,

I've been thinking a lot about the terrifying ordeal that Alton Wilson and Ray Jones went through during those awful days in June 1977. It’s hard to imagine the fear they must have felt. I'm curious if there's been more insight into how Ruiz and Denton were able to evade capture for nearly two weeks during their spree. Considering their escape, it's clear they had some kind of plan in place, but how in the world did they manage to continue so long without being stopped? It's troubling to think about the lapses in the manhunt efforts back then. My heart goes out to Alton and Ray's families. They’ve had to bear the weight of losing loved ones in such a cruel manner, and it's a painful reminder of how crucial it is for us to learn from the past to prevent future tragedies. ??
