I stumbled upon an old VHS recording of Raymond Myles at the Newport Folk Festival, and it gave me chills. It seems like every note he sang was filled with pure emotion and purpose. It’s devastating to think that his life was cut short by such a senseless act of violence. Myles had such a unique way of connecting with people through his music, breaking barriers and inspiring change. I often wonder how much more he could have accomplished if he was still with us. I’ve been thinking about his family a lot lately, and I can’t imagine the burden of losing someone so talented and full of life.
