I can't help but reflect on the community of Gonzales and the weight they must carry after the loss of Shon Tudda Miller Jr., his mom, and grandma. I wasn't there, but I can only imagine how deeply this has affected everyone who knew and loved them. It's hard to comprehend what it must have been like for the people at the New St. John Fellowship Baptist Church on that day—it should be a place of safety and peace. My heart goes out to all the families and friends touched by this tragedy. Dealing with the aftermath of such violence, especially at a place meant for worship and community, must be unimaginably difficult. I hope the community continues to support each other. For those who knew Shon Jr., I hope you find ways to keep his memory alive, as well as those of Carla Miller and Mildred Vessel. No one should have to endure such pain, and it's vital we remember them not just for how they died, but for how they lived.
