I’ve been following Herschel Owens’ case for a while, and something about the missed opportunities for gathering evidence has always puzzled me. Isn’t it strange that surveillance footage wasn’t mentioned more prominently? Convenience stores usually have cameras for security, and even back in 2005, it was somewhat standard. Were the cameras not working, or was there just nothing useful caught on tape? I feel for Herschel's family having to deal with all the uncertainties. It’s been over 15 years, and it must be so difficult not having concrete answers. The community should rally to revisit these questions in hopes of shedding more light on such a tragic event. It’s important to keep discussing and revisiting these unsolved cases because you never know when a new bit of attention might bring forth new information. Does anyone know if there have been recent pushes for reexamining cases like this?
