I came across this case recently and my heart goes out to Jaquon's family. I can't imagine the pain of losing someone so full of potential. One aspect that's been bugging me is the timing—Jaquon was set to join the U.S. Air Force the VERY NEXT DAY. Given that he was on such a promising path, it's unnerving to think about whether this was a random act of violence or if someone knew about his plans and wanted to prevent them from happening. It's so upsetting to see cases like this go unsolved. I hope more people come forward with information. His family deserves answers and justice for their beloved Jaquon. Does anyone else have thoughts on why this case hasn't moved forward? Could there be more to the story?
I was reading about Jaquon Jasper Pittman's case recently, and it just struck me how close he was to starting such a promising future. I can't stop thinking about how he was literally about to step into a whole new world at the University of New Orleans and then even the U.S. Air Force. It’s just devastating to think about all the potential that was taken away so senselessly.
Does anyone know if there’s been any outreach to students from Salmen High School or the community near Arts Street for witness testimonies or leads? Sometimes people feel more comfortable coming forward when approached directly in a community setting. Maybe someone saw or heard something and just doesn’t realize it's significant yet. It’d be great if there was some renewed effort to jog people's memories. Any thoughts on how this could be organized or encouraged?
