I've been following the Lafargue case for a while now, and I can't get over how unexpected this tragedy must have been for Laurent’s family and friends. It's really difficult to imagine what must have transpired between him and Robert for things to escalate to such a degree. I keep thinking about how involved Laurent was in the Hammond community, especially with the theatre and his church. It’s sad to think about how someone who seemed so vibrant and engaged with the world could have had such turmoil happening behind closed doors. For anyone familiar with similar situations, it’s eerie how sometimes people you think have everything together are actually battling unseen internal or familial conflicts. I know the police haven’t released much about the motive, but it’s sometimes the simple act of keeping up appearances that hides these tragic stories until it’s too late. Sending thoughts to Laurent’s wife, Elizabeth, and the rest of his family during this incredibly difficult time. It's a painful reminder of how fleeting and complex life can be.
