I’ve been following Kortlon's case since it happened, and what strikes me the most is how close-knit the community seems. During a vigil, people from all corners came together to support his family, sharing memories and lighting candles in his memory. It’s clear that Kortlon, or “Lil Goose” as many knew him, left a deep mark on those around him. His close friends described him as someone who always had a smile and could brighten anyone’s day. It's devastating to think about how his family, especially his parents, Rodney and Lisa, navigate such profound loss. I can't imagine the pain of losing a son so suddenly. The people who attended the memorials and shared heartfelt stories truly painted a picture of a young man who was deeply loved and is sorely missed. I hope the community continues to rally around his family as they search for peace and closure, and that justice is ultimately served for Kortlon. Gun violence has taken so many promising lives, and it’s clear that more needs to be done to prevent these tragedies. My thoughts remain with Kortlon’s loved ones during this difficult time.
