I've been following Valerie West's case and one part that's been bothering me is how close to home the situation unfolded. Discovering her body just a block away from her own house on Madame Germaine Street is chilling. It's such a small community in Lafayette, and to have something so horrific happen right there is unnerving. I can't even begin to imagine what her family and neighbors have been going through, especially knowing it all ended so near where she should have felt safe. It makes me appreciate the diligent work of local law enforcement who worked tirelessly to piece together what happened. It's tough to keep faith in the system when things like this occur, but I'm hopeful that Valerie's family will find some sense of justice and peace. Anyone else in the area experiencing a change in how you feel about safety there?

Has anyone heard anything new about Jason Marlin's defense strategy? I’ve been following the case closely, and while it's saddening to think about what Valerie’s family must be going through, I'm also really curious about what evidence led to his arrest. From what I understand, there was quite a bit of work by law enforcement to connect him to the crime. It makes me wonder how strong their case actually is. For anyone who has more details, how do you suppose Marlin's defense team is going to handle this in court? Valerie deserves justice, and I hope the truth comes out soon. ❤️
