I’ve been thinking about the impact this must have had on Mikey Stewart’s young son, Micha. Growing up without a father figure, especially when he was so young, can't be easy. Mikey was only 21 himself, and it breaks my heart to think of all the milestones Micha will have to face without his dad by his side. The whole family must be going through incredible pain, and it's important to remember the real people who are left to deal with the aftermath of such a violent crime. I hope they’re surrounded by a supportive community and that Micha will grow up knowing how much his dad cared for him, even if their time together was unfairly cut short. My thoughts go out to all of them as they navigate life without Mikey.
