Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussion about Eleuterio Zaldivar's case, and something I found quite unsettling is the fact that Nicholas Miorana was wearing an ankle monitor when he allegedly committed this crime. It's hard to imagine how someone under such surveillance could still get involved in something so serious. It raises questions about the effectiveness of these monitoring systems.
I know tech isn't foolproof, but aren't these monitors supposed to act as a deterrent? The fact that this happened has got me thinking about whether there's a need for more stringent checks or perhaps additional support for people who are out on bail. It just feels like there was a massive failure somewhere in the system, and unfortunately, it had such devastating consequences for Eleuterio and his family.
I'd love to hear what others think about this. Does anyone have more insight into how ankle monitors are meant to work or any similar cases? My thoughts are with the Zaldivar family as they seek justice.
Stay safe, everyone.
I’ve been thinking about the role of technology in cases like Eleuterio Zaldivar’s. It’s chilling to realize that the primary suspect, Nicholas Miorana, was found wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the offense. This raises so many questions for me about the effectiveness of these devices and how they’re monitored. Clearly, they didn’t prevent this tragedy or alert authorities in time. It's a stark reminder of the limitations we still face in crime prevention, even with technological aids. My heart goes out to Eleuterio’s family and friends as they navigate this painful journey. They deserve answers and justice, and it's important that discussions like these lead to improvements in our legal and monitoring systems. Has anyone else thought about this angle or have more information on how ankle monitor data is handled post-incident?
