I’ve been thinking a lot about the incredible outpouring of support from the Lafayette community following the tragic event at the Grand 16 Theatre. It’s just so touching to see how people rallied around Jillian Johnson’s family and friends during such a devastating time. Jillian seemed to have touched so many lives through her art and music, and the way local businesses and residents came together for vigils and memorials speaks volumes about how loved she was. I came across several stories about the events folks organized to not only remember Jillian and Mayci Breaux but also to support all the victims of that terrible night. It’s heartening to know that even in the darkest times, communities can find ways to lift each other up and stand strong. I’m curious to hear how anyone else has experienced or witnessed this sort of community resilience because it really seems like a crucial part of healing and honoring those we’ve lost.
