I hope everyone is holding up as best as they can. I was reading about Derryck Harris and Lamar Broussard, and it's just so sad what happened to them. I can’t help but think about what Derryck and Lamar's futures could have been. So young and full of promise, and now their families are left to deal with such an unfathomable loss.
It's deeply troubling that despite the broad daylight nature of the incident, no witnesses have come forward. It's almost as though people are too scared or maybe distrustful when it comes to talking to the police. I really wish this community held together stronger in times like these. Justice has to be for everyone, and I can’t imagine the pain their families are feeling without some kind of closure. If anyone out there saw something or knows something, it could make all the difference. These families deserve answers, and these young men deserve justice. Sending thoughts their way and hoping someday soon they get the resolution they so desperately need.
I've been following the tragic story of Derryck Harris and Lamar Broussard and can't shake how close to home this hits. It's incredibly difficult to fathom the pain their families must be enduring, facing not just one, but two heartbreaking losses in such a short span of time. It's deeply troubling that despite the attack happening in broad daylight, no one has stepped up with eyewitness accounts or information.
I can't help but wonder if fear plays a significant role in the silence. Oakland has unfortunately seen a lot of violence, and it seems that people might be scared to speak out. The community's reluctance only fuels the cycle of violence, leaving so many families like Derryck's and Lamar’s without the closure they deserve. It's vital that as a community, we support one another and find a way to break this cycle.
If anyone reading this knows anything, even if it seems insignificant, it might be the puzzle piece needed to solve these tragedies. The more we reach out, the more chances we have to bring Derryck and Lamar's families some peace. Let's hope for justice and healing for all those affected.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the tragic case of Derryck Harris and Lamar Broussard, and I can't stop thinking about the terrifying situation of gun violence impacting young lives in Oakland. What's particularly disturbing to me is the midday timing of the attack on January 19, 2014. It happened at around 2:15 p.m., right on a busy intersection, which makes it even more baffling that no witnesses have come forward.
It's understandable that people might be scared to speak up, considering the potential danger they might face, but it's also incredibly sad to see Derryck and Lamar's families yearning for answers, while they are left in the dark. This case really highlights how the community needs to come together.
Does anyone have insights on what more can be done to encourage witness cooperation in these areas? Any changes in policy or community programs that have been effective elsewhere? My heart goes out to the families; no one should have to go through this alone.
