I’ve been following the case of Simone Veal and can’t stop thinking about how the system failed her in so many ways. What really gets me is knowing that Sylvester Holt, with his history of violence and multiple protective orders, was allowed to walk free just a few days before the incident. It's almost unimaginable to think this could have been prevented with more proactive measures. How are these protective orders not enough to ensure safety? My heart goes out to Simone’s family and Officer Louviere’s loved ones. They’ve all suffered such unimaginable losses, and my hope is that this case brings about real change in how we handle domestic violence situations. What are your thoughts on how this situation could have been better handled?
