I've been following the Malcolm Wallace case closely, and I keep thinking about Monica Bates, Malcolm's 16-year-old sister. Her young life ended before it even had a real chance to begin, and it's just devastating. She wasn't even supposed to be there that day, which makes the whole situation feel even more tragic. I can't imagine what her friends and high school classmates must be going through. Teenagers shouldn't have to process the loss of a friend to such senseless violence. It's awful to think someone so young was caught up in this, losing her future in the blink of an eye. My thoughts go out to their entire family, especially as they try to find some way to move forward after such an unimaginable loss.
