I've been following the Dale Robert Sands case and something that really stands out to me is the courage of that young child who found Mr. Sands' body. I can't even begin to imagine how traumatizing and confusing that must have been for him. It's heartbreaking to think about a child stumbling upon such a horrific scene during what should be just another day of playing football. I hope the community is rallying around this child and providing him with the support and care he needs after experiencing something so harrowing. It's just such a reminder of how deeply crime can impact those not even directly involved. My thoughts are with the Sands family and that child's family as well; may they find peace and support during this difficult time.
Has anyone else read about the nine-year-old who found Dale Sands' body? I keep thinking about how traumatic that must have been for the child, as well as for their family. It's difficult to imagine the confusion and fear the child felt, stumbling upon something so awful while just enjoying a day of football.
