I've been thinking about Cierra's story and how it reflects on the bigger issue of community involvement and safety. She was a young mother working hard to provide for her kids, and yet, her life was tragically taken in her own home—a place where she should have felt safest. This really brings to light how much more we need to do to ensure our communities are places where families can feel secure. It's devastating that her daughters will grow up without their mom, and it's something we should all be thinking about and working towards improving. How can we, as a community, come together to prevent such tragedies from happening again? Anyone have thoughts on community-based initiatives that could possibly help prevent another tragedy like Cierra's from occurring?
