Marcia Denise Brown, 42, disappeared from Memphis, Tennessee, in the autumn of 1999. She was last seen on October 1, 1999, after a dispute with her landlord that reportedly involved threats to burn down the rental property. A fire did break out at the residence later that day, and Marcia was not located.

Marcia was described as between five feet five and five feet seven inches tall, 95 to 100 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The Memphis Police Department opened an investigation, but the case produced no significant public leads and remains unresolved.

The combination of a heated argument, reported threats, the subsequent fire and Marcia’s unexplained disappearance creates a persistent gap in the timeline of that day. Does anyone have memories of Marcia, the neighborhood around her rental, or information about the fire on October 1, 1999?
