I've been following Dequantay Singleton's case closely, and I'm struck by how little information has come out over the years. It's incredibly frustrating to see cases like his not get the closure they deserve. I can't help but think about what his loved ones are going through, living day by day without answers about what happened to him. I read somewhere that the neighborhood where this happened has a significant problem with eyewitness silence, which just compounds the difficulty in solving such cases. I understand that fear can be a powerful deterrent to coming forward, but it seems like community trust in the police could make such a difference here. It has always puzzled me why someone in the neighborhood hasn't stepped up to share what they know. Maybe it's time to explore new ways to encourage people to share tips anonymously. Whatever it takes, this young man's family deserves answers, and we as a community should be doing whatever we can to support them. If anyone here has new ideas on how to raise awareness or knows local groups trying to help, please chime in.
