I was reading about the tragic death of Antonio Sterling and something that stood out to me was the role of the surveillance footage in the investigation. It’s chilling to think how crucial those cameras were in piecing together what happened to Antonio that night. Without that footage, who knows how longer it might have taken to uncover the truth about where the murder actually occurred. It’s a poignant reminder of how technology can aid in justice, especially in such horrific situations. My heart goes out to Antonio’s family and friends who had to endure the uncertainty and pain during those two long years before the arrest of Kelvin Lee Phillips and Derrick Banks. I hope they find some comfort in the relentless work that eventually led to these arrests. It’s important we continue to support law enforcement’s effort to utilize every tool possible in bringing closures to cases like these.
