I wanted to discuss something I’ve been thinking about concerning the officers' conduct during the execution of the no-knock warrant that led to Josef Richardson’s death. It’s deeply disturbing that the internal investigation by the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office cleared the deputies, especially when there seem to be so many questions about how things were handled. From what I’ve read, Josef was unarmed, so why was there such a rush to use lethal force?
We've all seen stories where police protocols are scrutinized, and Richardson’s case feels like another tragic example where things went terribly wrong. It's vital for law enforcement agencies to not only follow protocols but also to re-evaluate them if they lead to unnecessary loss of life.
