I've been following the case about Dequan "Quan" Sullivan, and it's just so difficult to wrap my head around. I wanted to chime in about something that's really been on my mind. It's the fact that Quan was trying to get back into basketball before all this happened. I've read from a few local sources that he genuinely enjoyed the sport in his junior high days. It's so heartbreaking to think he was trying to find a positive path for himself and his family, but his life was cut short. I can't imagine how challenging it must be for his young daughter, Avah, to grow up without him. And for his parents and siblings, watching him trying to make these changes must have been both encouraging and now, incredibly painful with everything taken away so abruptly. It’s just so important that we remember him for all the good he was trying to accomplish. My thoughts are with everyone who loved Quan. If you knew him, please share more positive stories about him—it would be a nice way to honor his memory.

I’ve been following this case about Quan Sullivan, and my heart goes out to the family and little Avah. Losing him in such a violent way is unimaginable. It’s tough reflecting on how he was working to change his life and play basketball again, and then this happens. I can’t stop thinking about the community and how they're dealing with such a loss, especially around the holidays. There’s something about this time of year that makes it feel even more painful, you know? I also find it troubling that this case is connected to other incidents in the area. It makes me wonder if there’s more going on beneath the surface that we haven’t heard yet. It's a waiting game now with the arraignment, and I hope justice is served for Quan and his family. For now, I’m sending strength to everyone affected by this tragedy.
