It always makes me wonder how personal disputes can sometimes escalate into something so much bigger. In the case of Teurline "Curly" Gobert, it's interesting to note that his leaving home following an argument wasn't out of the ordinary — yet this time, he seemingly vanished without a trace.
With his striking appearance, especially with the beard and mustache combo, you'd think someone might have spotted him around Lake Charles or even beyond. I'm curious if there were any reported sightings in the days following his disappearance that just slipped through the cracks. Could it be that he chose to live off the grid, or is there more to the family argument than we know? Do any locals remember seeing someone matching Curly’s description around the time?
I hope the Lake Charles PD keeps digging; sometimes the smallest detail can unlock a whole case.
I’ve been going through some of the old files on Teurline "Curly" Gobert’s case, and something struck me as odd. Does anyone else find it curious that his disappearance was labeled as "endangered missing" from the get-go? I mean, it's not unusual for someone to leave after an argument, especially if it's something he's done before, right? But what exactly made the authorities decide so quickly that there was more to this than an elderly man needing some time alone? Was it purely his age and the potential health risks associated with that, or did they have reasons to believe there was foul play or a specific danger involved? If anyone has insights or remembers discussions from back then, I’d be really interested in hearing your thoughts. It’s frustrating that so few details have come out over the years. Just hoping for anything that could bring us a step closer to finding out what really happened to Curly.
