It’s truly unsettling to think about how someone like Steven E. McManus could have been taken away from his family and friends so suddenly and without justice even decades later. As a correctional officer, he surely must have had a tough job, facing risks that many of us can’t imagine in our daily lives. I was reading about how cases like his often fall to the wayside, drowned out by the sheer number of cases that came around the same time, but it’s important to remember that behind every unsolved case is a family still waiting for closure. It's hard not to think about how painful it must be for his loved ones to have no answers after all these years. If anyone remembers anything, even the smallest detail, it could make all the difference. It gives hope that with the advancements in DNA and forensic technology, there could still be a chance for answers. My thoughts are with McManus’s family, hoping they soon find the peace they truly deserve.
