I was just reading about the tragic loss of Lauri Walters Bodin and wanted to share something that's been on my mind. It’s absolutely crucial for folks to know that resources are available for those in dangerous situations like Lauri faced. It’s saddening to think she felt trapped, despite taking steps like filing for a protective order. This makes me wonder about the effectiveness and enforcement of these orders in real life. It seems like her concerns were not taken seriously enough, and it breaks my heart thinking about the fear she must have lived with daily. What more can be done to ensure protective orders actually provide the safety and reassurance they’re supposed to? I truly hope this case prompts a closer look at how the system can better support those in need, so we can prevent future tragedies like this one. Sending all my love to Lauri’s family and especially her kids, who are undoubtedly going through a lot right now. If anyone knows of more ways to support them, please share.
