I’ve been thinking about the impact this case has had on the Highland neighborhood. It's understandable that such a tragic event shakes a community to its core. I grew up in a similar tight-knit area, and I can only imagine the fear and sadness they're experiencing right now. Robert Lemmon was so well-regarded by his friends and family, described as kind and generous. It’s just so tough to digest that such a senseless act of violence took away someone like him. Even though Fabian Q. Alexander has been arrested and convicted, the community's sense of safety has undoubtedly been affected. What steps can a neighborhood take to heal from something like this and rebuild that crucial sense of security? Community events? Increased neighborhood watch programs? I’m curious to hear if anyone else has lived through something similar and what helped them. Any feedback or thoughts would be much appreciated.
