I've been thinking a lot about the circumstances at the Super 8 Motel and how devastatingly random this tragedy was. It breaks my heart to think about little Mya, full of innocence and joy, caught in such senseless violence. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain her family is going through, having to face this devastating loss. One thing that's really stuck with me is how the motel, a place meant to be a safe haven for travelers, turned into a scene of tragedy. It's chilling to think about how something as inconsequential as an argument in the parking lot could lead to such devastating loss. This really underscores the urgent need for stricter measures to prevent such violence from affecting innocent bystanders. Has anyone from the Shreveport area noticed any community initiatives focusing on reducing gun violence in response to Mya’s death? It's among many steps we need to prioritize to prevent another family from enduring such pain. My thoughts are with the Patel family and all those who hold Mya's memory close.
