I’ve been thinking a lot about Aaron Batiste, especially his beloved nickname, "Ziploc," which friends and family used with such affection. It's these little things, like nicknames, that stay with us, isn’t it? They tell us so much about a person’s personality and their relationships. "Ziploc" makes me imagine someone who held everything together, someone reliable and cherished. It breaks my heart thinking his children, Trinity and Saylor, and his family have to navigate life without that constant presence. I wonder how we can support each other and the Batiste family during this incredibly difficult time. It feels like the community really needs to come together more than ever. If anyone hasn’t reached out with what they know to the authorities, it’s crucial we keep encouraging that communication. Aaron deserves justice, and his family deserves peace. Every bit of information could make a difference. Wishing strength and love to Aaron's family and anyone else who knew and loved him.
